The short version
- We don't store your data. Job details go directly from your browser to your own Google Sheet and Drive — nothing passes through our servers.
- We only read pages when you ask. TrackBee reads the current tab only when you click Save. No background monitoring.
- We never sell your data. Since we don't store it, there is nothing to sell.
- No account required. We don't know your name, email, or identity.
TrackBee ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. We built this extension to solve a simple problem: helping job seekers track their applications with zero friction. This policy explains exactly what data we access, how it is used, and why you are always in control.
1. What We Access, And What We Don't
Permissions TrackBee uses
- Active Tab Reading: We only read the content of the current tab you are on, and only when our background script checks if the URL is a supported job site (to show the "+" badge), or when you click Save.
- No Background Scraping: We do not track, read, or store your general browsing history at any time.
- No Identity Tracking: TrackBee does not require an account. We do not know your name, email address, or personal identity.
2. How Your Data Is Used
The sole purpose of accessing job page data like Job Title, Company, and Compensation, is to transport it into your designated Google Sheet.
When you save a job, TrackBee also saves a copy of the job description as a Google Doc in a "TrackBee Job Descriptions" folder in your Google Drive, and links it from your Tracker. Only the description itself is copied, not the rest of the page. The copy stays readable even if the original posting is taken down.
TrackBee has no central database. We do not intercept, store, or copy your job applications on any servers owned by us. Your data flows directly from your local browser to your Google Account via the official Google Sheets and Google Drive APIs.
3. Google API Services Disclosure
TrackBee's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
When you authenticate TrackBee with your Google Account, we request only Google's drive.file permission, which limits TrackBee to the files it creates: your Tracker sheet, and the "TrackBee Job Descriptions" folder and the documents in it. We cannot read your emails, and we do not have access to any other files in your Google Drive.
4. We Do Not Sell Your Data
Because we do not store your data, we have nothing to sell. TrackBee will never sell, rent, or share your job search history, preferences, or any other information with recruiters, advertisers, or third-party data brokers. Period.
5. Contacting Support
If you send us a message through the form on our Support page, we receive what you enter (the topic, your message, and your name and email if you add them) along with your browser and TrackBee version, to help us fix problems. The form is delivered to our inbox by Web3Forms. If you add your email, we use it only to follow up on your message, and we never add it to a mailing list.
6. Chrome Web Store Compliance
This privacy policy is provided to comply with the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies. TrackBee is designed with a single purpose: to facilitate the rapid saving of job posting metadata into a user-owned Google Sheet.
